Brianna May joined Poly’s English Department in 2023. Since graduating with a BA in English in 2009, Brianna May has devoted her entire career to education. She comes to Poly after teaching in vastly different communities, from rural North Carolina, to Newark, New Jersey, to Bushwick, Brooklyn, to Chelsea, New York. She earned a Master of Education degree from Harvard University with focus on Language and Literacy and a Master of Arts degree in Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education. She believes that an excellent education in English promotes students’ inclination towards empathy, justice, and self-actualization. Outside of work, Brianna finds joy in motherhood, Brooklyn, and the sun.
