Jase Franklyn currently serves as Poly’s track and field coach. In 2003, Jase moved to the United States from the dual-Caribbean island nation of Trinidad and Tobago. He was an athlete and studied at Lehman College, where he earned a bachelor’s in computer information systems in 2009. After graduating, he began coaching at Kingsborough Community College and the Armory Track Foundation and continued his career at LIU Brooklyn in 2013. He is passionate about many aspects of the discipline, particularly the throwing events: shot-put, discus, javelin, and hammer. Jase finds it satisfying to help the students “achieve their goals, teach them something they never tried before, or something that never thought they would be good at.”
Jase is also an entrepreneur, having owned an electronic repair store from 2014 to 2019. He also opened his own BBQ catering business in 2018, Jase’s BBQ LLC.
