John McGee joined Poly in 2023 as Operations Coordinator. You may see him traversing the Dyker Heights campus daily supporting the school’s Grounds Crew and executing landscaping and horticulture initiatives across its 25 acres. John plays a critical role in managing day-to-day requests that come to the Operations Department. Additionally, he assists with coordination of the more than 1,000 events held on campus each school year, as well as construction logistics, and all things relating to the upkeep and operation of campus. Prior to coming to Poly, he received his degree in Marine Science from Stony Brook University and began a career in sustainable aquaculture, working at a recirculating fish farm, shellfish hatchery, and most recently an aquaponics start-up. He credits being able to effectively think on his feet to working in these unique environments, and has found it comes in very handy at Poly!
