John Rankin

John Rankin assumed the role as interim Head of School in July 2023. Rankin began his tenure at Poly in 1985 as a member of the English faculty, eventually becoming department chair. During his time at the school, he has been advisor to the award-winning school newspaper, “The Polygon,” and was twice named a New York State outstanding teacher. He has also served as academic dean and assistant head of school. In 2020, he developed the school’s inaugural Grade 12 Philosophy Seminar which he continues to teach in Poly’s Upper School.
