Joyce Vizcaino, who joined the Lower School in 2017, is an Associate Teacher in Kindergarten. A lifelong New Yorker, Joyce earned a bachelor’s in psychology from Brooklyn College. While completing her degree, she acquired a strong interest in child development and learning. What excites Joyce the most in teaching is “the symbiotic relationship between the teacher and the student. I learn from students as they learn from me.” Joyce believes teachers are a catalyst for change and growth and strives to empower and support student learning. She hopes to create an environment where students can take chances and tap into their inquisitive nature. Outside the classroom, Joyce loves reading, spending time with family, and learning about anything related to anthropology.
