Kenneth Hamilton, Jr. joined the Poly Prep community in the fall of 2021 as the Assistant Head of the Lower School. Before joining Poly, Kenneth was a Third Grade House Advisor and the Equity Chair for the Lower School at The Dalton School. Prior to Dalton, Kenneth taught at Trevor Day School after completing graduate studies in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. Kenneth began his teaching career in Busan, South Korea.
Inspired by his personal experiences as a math student, Kenneth completed graduate studies as an Elementary Math Specialist while at Dalton. His research topic combined his framework as a diversity, equity, and inclusion practitioner with his passion for mathematics by exploring the intersectionality of race, gender, and equitable access to rigorous mathematics instruction.
Kenneth is continually inspired by our youngest learners’ humor, curiosity, and their willingness to take intellectual risks and be challenged. As a passionate elementary educator, Kenneth says that “learning should be exciting, experiential, and equitable.”
When not in school, Kenneth enjoys reading and traveling.
