Kristin Guynn joined Poly Prep in 2021 as an Upper and Middle School Computer Science teacher and Robotics coach. In her career, Kristin has successfully created curricula to serve diverse classrooms in three disciplines and seven content areas. In addition to launching a technology program at her previous school, Kristin has worked with the Google Educators Group and CSEd research team, as well as Girls Who Code, to advocate for historically underrepresented and female students in technology education. She also co-founded Mind.Code.Create, a non-profit mindfulness and tech incubator for Black and Latinx youth. Kristin was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She attended The George Washington University in Washington, DC and moved to Brooklyn in 2011 to pursue a master’s in education and begin her first teaching job at Achievement First Charter school. With an undergraduate degree in business, Kristin was inspired to change career paths from finance to sports management and eventually to education while working in community relations for the Philadelphia Eagles NFL team and curating events with the local schools in the tri-state area. In addition to staying active, cooking, and spending time with friends and family, Kristin’s favorite hobby is traveling and she has visited 40 countries and counting!
