When Rich Nolan P’08, ’11 came to Poly in 2008 to teach Upper School math, he had already been teaching for 24 years. A native of Brooklyn, Rich attended SUNY Buffalo State College, Fordham University, and the College of Staten Island. In 2018, Rich participated in the Teachers College Cowin Financial Literacy Summer Institute in partnership with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York for a series of collaborative and interactive workshops on economic literacy. He has been co-advisor of the Upper School Finance Club. Rich is also the coach of Poly’s crew team. Rowing for SUNY Buffalo, he was a member of the school’s New York State Intercollegiate Rowing Association championship-winning team. In the PSAL, Rich has coached soccer, basketball, and track and field.
